Communications Coordinator

EDCSSMU Communications Coordinator is to manage all external communications and advertisement for the Centre, in collaboration with other portfolios to create and revise content. 

  • Paid position: $15.25 per hour;
  • 3-4 hours per week;

Events Coordinator

The EDCSSMU Events Coordinator organizes intersectional, trauma-enforced, and harm-reductive events run by the service. In collaboration with the other Events Coordinator, they will communicate with and manage a team of event volunteers. They will oversee all aspects of events run by the Centre, lead fundraising and promotional opportunities and delegate to their team of volunteers. They will be responsible for a total of six events minimum, in addition to the EDAW yearly two-day long conference bringing together organizations, stakeholders, students, and advocates to explore upcoming Eating disorder research and developments within the field.

Events Outreach Manager

The EDCSSMU Events Outreach Manager is to manage all communications aspects of event planning and outreach, including the creation of graphics and promotional materials for events, and coordinating the distribution of these materials.

Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator is to manage all communication, recruitment, responsibilities and participation from support volunteers within the EDCSSMU. They will ensure active shift registration, feedback on participation, scheduling and training attendance from volunteers, and lead any boding activities for the volunteers.

  • Paid position: $15.25 per hour;
  • Hours: 3-4 hours per week;

French Translator

The Eating Disorder Centre of SSMU French Translator will translate all materials of the EDCSSMU to French. They will ensure that all translated content is inclusive, non judgmental, anti-ableist, anti-racist and anti-colonialist, fat- and body-positive, and queer- and trans-positive. They will be aware of the social, medical, and legal normative language that goes against the aforementioned values to ensure they do not replicate it in their content

If you’re interested in helping the EDCSSMU develop our visual brand, gain a following on campus and educate folks on disordered eating, this could be a great position for you!

Tasks involved:

  • researching for educational Instagram posts.
  • writing and editing blog posts. 
  • writing social copy. 
  • creating social media graphics. 
 
Total hours required: 1-2 hours/week.

If you’re interested in event planning for Eating Disorder Awareness Week, Mental Health Awareness Series, fundraising, and are passionate about helping the cause of eating disorders and disordered eating, this might be a great position for you! 

Tasks involved: 

  • leading events (comfortable in public speaking).
  • organizing and planning event content. 
  • outreaching to external speakers. 
  • fundraising.
  • interviewing speakers.
  • advertising.
 

Total hours required: 2-3 hours/week.

If you’re interested in helping us provide services, including support groups and drop-ins, and are passionate about mental health and peer support, this could be a great position for you! 

Tasks involved: 

  • facilitating support groups (virtual).
  • match and chat with users on our online forum.
  • facilitating drop-in hours.
  • assisting with other possible in-person services (COVID dependent).
 
Total hours required: 2-4 hours/week depending on the projects you’d like to be involved with!
